Independence Day Fun 'Pan Dulce'
Style!

Micky's is a Weho institution.
The club is usually full of hot guys of mixed races, but tonight - a
special Mexican Independence Day celebration as part of the popular weekly
Pan Dulce event by Club Papi Productions - is decidedly Latino.
As I arrived, I started to head towards the spacious patio area in the
front of the club, but now the sight of 10 stunning go-go boys dancing
is calling me to the center of the club near the bar to admire the eye
candy. The hunky shirtless bartenders are certainly easy on the eyes,
and twinkish greeters with iPads chatting up the clientele for their e-mail
addresses and to promote their upcoming events aren’t bad either.
With so many choices, I truly think I’ve died and gone to heaven.
My tour continues upstairs, which seem heavy on hip-hop. Lots
of guys (and girls) are grinding on the open dance floor. Boy on
boy, boy on girl, girl on girl - all having a great time. From the upper
floor, you can look through an observation window to the first floor bar
directly below. Careful research on my part seems to indicate that the
bartenders look every bit as nice from this angle, as well. One of the
bartenders told me they serve food until 10pm, and the food at Micky's
is always quite good.
As the night rolls along, I notice a line starting to form. Many people
are waiting to go upstairs and I can see why. It reminds me of a club on
Miami's trendy South Beach…hot mixed men in tight quarters grinding to
the beat. As midnight approaches, the club is hopping on both levels.
Cute guys are all around, adult beverages are flowing, and the talented
go-go boys are working their magic.
Next comes the obligatory floor show…complete with emcee matron, Lola,
and a hip latina drag performer. The show is brief - seems like only 20
minutes or so - which seems perfect. Back to the real entertainers we came
to see…the sexy, handsome go-go boys. There is even a female go-go
dancer…and she is very attractive, as well. Weho’s finest guys have come
out in full force and Micky's is packed. And another sure sign that everyone
is having a good time…even the flower vendor is doing a brisk business
tonight!
The club is in a safe area, and security guards are posted throughout
the building. They are courteous and easy to talk to. I feel safe and secure,
which is not always the case when visiting other clubs. While I didn't
stay for the club's 3 am closing, I had a truly amazing time and leave
with pleasant memories, some nice photographs, and even a few phone numbers.

Micky's is a favorite of locals and Thursday's Pan Dulce event should
certainly be on the 'must do' list of anyone planning a visit to West Hollywood.
